Osaka Walking Tours

Osaka has a different character from Kyoto: bold, mercantile and modern, shaped by the sea. Kansai Navi's currently available Osaka walking tour is the Osaka Bay Cultural Walking Tour, a history-and-culture walk around the Tempozan waterfront. It is not a Dotonbori food tour or an Osaka Castle tour; it reveals the lesser-known story of Osaka's port, faith and industrial heritage beside its contemporary bay landmarks.

What the Osaka Bay tour covers

Beginning at Osakako Station, the roughly two-hour, 2.5 km route connects nine principal stops around Osaka Bay and Tempozan: maritime history, local shrines and temples, industrial heritage and modern waterfront landmarks. Attraction entrance fees are not included, and the tour does not include Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, Tennoji or Shinsekai.

Who it's for

Travelers who have seen central Osaka and want something different, and anyone drawn to maritime history, local faith and the story of how modern Osaka met the sea.
